"Yoga therapy is taught by yoga teachers with additional training and experience in the therapeutic adaptation and application of yoga. People may be taught one-to-one or in a therapy group setting."
In simple terms, yoga therapy uses the tools of yoga—movement, breathwork, relaxation, meditation and self-reflection—in a way that’s individually tailored. It isn’t about perfect poses; it’s about meeting you where you are and supporting your health, resilience and balance.
A session might begin with a conversation about your health and priorities, before exploring gentle movement, breathing or guided relaxation. Over time, these practices can ease stress, improve sleep, support recovery and nurture emotional wellbeing.
Yoga therapy is suitable for all body types and backgrounds, whether you’re managing a health condition, feeling overwhelmed or simply seeking more vitality. What matters most is the willingness to practise.
At its heart, yoga therapy is about supporting the whole person—body, mind, emotions, and spirit—with practices that fit your life.
Life can move at such a pace. Stress, fatigue, overwhelm—and all the big feelings—can creep in quietly, until suddenly you're reacting in ways that don’t feel like you.
Perhaps your sleep has been disrupted, your back is aching, or your stressed about work, health or family pressures. You may have said or done something you regret or just feel out of step with yourself.
This is where yoga therapy can gently support you.
Through breath, movement, stillness, and guided rest, yoga therapy offers a space to pause, to reconnect and begin feeling like you again. It’s not about fixing or striving—it’s about softening, listening, and creating a safe place, a refuge within your own body and mind.
Sessions are held in my purpose-built Yoga pod in Colden Common. Initial sessions are typically face to face and then if you decide to continue, we can meet either face to face or online as you wish.
If you’re curious or have questions, I’d love to talk. Drop me a message and we can arrange a time to chat—no pressure, just a gentle conversation about what you need.

"I was struggling with panic attacks while waiting for surgery and found Emily just at the right time. She gave me three relaxation sessions, recorded them for me to use whenever I needed and the difference it made to my mental health was amazing. Emily was kind, supportive and truly brilliant. I can’t thank her enough and would highly recommend her to anyone."

“Working with Emily has given me tools and insight that a lifetime of therapy had never provided me with. Yoga Therapy seeks to help with the present and offered me ways I could ground and centre myself that were accessible and potent. Emily is a patient and kind therapist whose support never wavered through the ups and downs of our sessions together.
With a bipolar type 2 diagnosis I am aware of how much of a challenge I pose to traditional therapists many of whom have rejected to work with me based on my diagnosis alone. Emily established a warm non-judgemental therapy space where I felt safe, supported and encouraged.”

“Yoga Therapy has improved my awareness of my breathing and helped reduce tension and restriction of my breathing pattern. The work we did helped to ease some of my back pain and tension and gave me tools to ease flare ups and reduce their severity. The sessions also helped me improve awareness of my general wellbeing and gave me the opportunity to focus on specific tasks to help reduce stress and anxiety.”
- Yoga Therapy Client
“I really enjoyed finding some new stretches to ease my lower back and hip tightness as well as learning some new breathing practices and developing a better awareness of my breathing restrictions. The Savasana practices helped me build on my previous experience of meditation and I’m pleased that I now have a few practices to help develop this.”
- Yoga Therapy Client
“Yoga Therapy gave me a centred mind and approach to working with the injury and being ‘kind to myself’ to allow healing to take place. Through bringing greater awareness to self and body, it creates the opportunity to develop a virtuous circle in the most real of senses. Aside from the progress towards healing injury, Emily provided understanding for me to appreciate how the healing process is part of the bigger picture, as a whole.”

"Emily teaches through movement and mindfulness an awareness of body and being within the world.
The asanas encourage both physical and mental strength and flexibility and Emily’s clear instruction makes following the poses easy.
I feel rejuvenated after a yoga session with Emily, at peace with myself, and week by week my body is being gently coaxed into optimal strength and wellness."

"Emily is an amazing yoga instructor. Each class is the perfect balance of challenge and chill, and you finish feeling energised and calm, like you've worked out and then gone to the spa. Her love of yoga is infectious and she manages to bring everyone together and take us on a journey. Highly recommend!"
