This week we start a tour of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras beginning with the 1st of the 5 Yamas or 'Restraints' / 'Controls' that we might choose to place on ourselves. The 1st is Ahimsa or 'non-harming'. We begin with a very simple observation of the natural breath, gentle seated or lying breath observation. We then share a slightly more animated movement practice which concludes with longer holds in 'banana asana' or lying side bend and supine twists and as always we finish with a guided relaxation. This week I recite the mantra 'Loka samasta sukhino bhavantu' - may all beings everywhere be happy!
