Saturday | 10:30am – 5:30pm | The Yoga Loft, Station Mill, Alresford
Limited to 12 participants
There is a point where stress stops being motivating…
and starts becoming overwhelming.
The mind gets busy.
The body tightens.
You know what would help but you cannot seem to access it in the moment.
If this feels familiar, this day is for you.
Most approaches either help you:
understand your patterns
or
calm your nervous system
Very few bring both together in a way that creates lasting change.
This retreat is designed to do exactly that.
A carefully structured day that moves you through three stages:
Sophie Le Reste is a Mindful Wellness Coach specialising in nervous system regulation, emotional wellbeing, and relational patterns. Her work blends neuroscience, polyvagal theory, and attachment-informed coaching to help people understand how their inner world shapes their outer experience. Sophie supports clients to recognise and shift the patterns that drive stress, overwhelm, and disconnection, guiding them towards more grounded, conscious ways of relating to themselves and others. Her approach is warm, insightful, and deeply practical, creating real change in how people live day to day.
Emily Bruce is a Yoga Therapist and meditation teacher specialising in stress, sleep, and nervous system health. Her work integrates embodied practices such as breathwork, movement, and deep rest with the timeless wisdom of yoga philosophy, offering a pathway from coping to lasting calm. Emily creates inclusive, nurturing spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies, soften out of over-effort, and experience a deeper sense of ease. Known for her grounding and uplifting presence, she supports clients not just to feel better in the moment, but to embody lasting change in how they live and respond to life.
You will be guided by two complementary approaches:
We'll explore how overwhelm is actually created and reinforced in real life
How the nervous system shapes perception in relationships
Why emotional patterns repeat even when you “know better”
How overwhelm shows up in behaviour, thought loops and daily life
The subtle ways control and uncertainty drive stress
We will also discover why those patterns are not who you are
The difference between your state and your true self
How ancient yoga philosophy maps the layers of your experience
Why your mind fluctuates and how to relate to it differently
A powerful shift from over-identification to inner steadiness
This is where space opens. Where something deeper than stress becomes available.
Together, this day reveals:
You can feel everything
and still choose how you show up
You will begin to understand overwhelm not as the enemy
but as information
A messenger pointing you back towards balance
The difference between stress and overwhelm and how to recognise both early
How the “monkey mind” operates and how to work with it rather than fight it
The connection between control, uncertainty and nervous system activation
How your patterns are formed and how they can change
Why calm does not always stick and what actually creates lasting shifts
Understanding alone is not enough
The afternoon is designed to help your body experience something different
Through:
Gentle, accessible movement
Yin yoga to release held tension
Restorative practices to create safety
Yoga Nidra to support deep nervous system reset
This is where change begins to land
Throughout the day you will be introduced to simple, powerful frameworks that make sense of your experience
Modern nervous system science and your window of tolerance
The ancient model of the Gunas and how they mirror your internal states
The idea of Samskaras as patterns that can be reshaped through practice
A deeper understanding of how to act with clarity even in uncertainty
All shared in a way that is practical, grounded and immediately relevant
You will arrive with your own understanding of overwhelm
And leave with a new one
More spacious
More empowered
More embodied

Change does not come from one breakthrough moment. It comes from what you practise and what you stop gripping so tightly.
