Yoga as a Manifestation Blueprint: Rising Into Spring
Emily Bruce | MAR 20, 2025

Spring is a time of awakening—a season of fresh energy, new possibilities and rising potential. It mirrors the natural expansion that occurs within us when we align with the cycles of life. In yoga, the Eight Limbs offer a practical structure for growth, guiding us from simple daily habits to a deeper sense of purpose. When combined with the Chakras, this blueprint becomes an even richer path for bringing intentions to life.
Just as nature moves from winter’s stillness into action, we too can shift from stagnation to momentum. This isn’t just about setting intentions—it’s about living them, breathing life into them and stepping forward with clarity and confidence.
Laying the Foundations for Growth
Before anything can rise, it must first be grounded. The Yamas (ethical principles) help us clear the way, letting go of what no longer serves us. Similarly, Muladhara (Root Chakra) represents stability and security—the firm foundation from which everything grows.
Spring Reflection: What habits, thoughts, or patterns are keeping you stuck? What needs clearing before you can step into something new?
Practice Tip: Journal on how the Yamas can support your growth:
Embodied Practice: Grounding postures such as Mountain Pose (Tadasana) or Squat (Malasana) help stabilise both body and intention.
Cultivating Personal Growth & Creativity
Once the soil is clear, we must nourish what we want to grow. The Niyamas focus on personal discipline and self-care, while Svadhisthana (Sacral Chakra) is the centre of creativity, pleasure and emotional flow.
Spring Reflection: How can you bring joy and passion into your daily life? What practices make you feel alive?
Practice Tip: Use the Niyamas to guide your actions:
Embodied Practice: Flow-based sequences, hip-opening poses, and movement (such as dance or free-flowing yoga) unlock creative energy.
Building Strength & Inner Power
Spring is the season of rising energy—of light returning and taking action. The Asanas (postures) develop strength and focus, while Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra) fuels confidence and self-belief.
Spring Reflection: Where in your life do you need more courage? How can you step into your power?
Practice Tip: Set an intention and move as if it’s already happening. Walk, speak and hold yourself in a way that reflects your future self.
Embodied Practice: Strong, energising poses such as Warrior Poses (Virabhadrasana I & II), Boat Pose (Navasana) and Plank build confidence and inner fire.
Expanding Through Breath & Connection
Breath is the bridge between thought and action, just as spring is the bridge between stillness and growth. Pranayama (breathwork) awakens and directs energy, while Anahata (Heart Chakra) encourages compassion, connection, and trust in yourself.
Spring Reflection: Are you open to receiving the opportunities and abundance coming your way?
Practice Tip: Try “Breath of Expansion”:
Embodied Practice: Heart-opening poses such as Camel (Ustrasana) or Cobra (Bhujangasana) create space for expansion.
Turning Inward & Finding Your True Voice
With the rising energy of spring, it’s easy to get distracted by external noise. Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) teaches us to turn inward, while Vishuddha (Throat Chakra) helps us express our truth.
Spring Reflection: Are you speaking and living your truth, or trying to fit into someone else’s expectations?
Practice Tip: Try a day of mindful silence to listen to your inner voice.
Embodied Practice: Humming, chanting, or simply taking deep, audible sighs can help clear the throat and strengthen self-expression.
Clarity & Direction
A scattered mind leads to scattered results. Dharana (concentration) helps sharpen focus, while Ajna (Third Eye Chakra) supports intuition and vision.
Spring Reflection: Are you clear on what you’re working towards, or is your energy spread too thin?
Practice Tip: Try a visualisation meditation, seeing your goal already fulfilled in detail.
Embodied Practice: Candle-gazing (Trataka) or simply focusing on your breath can enhance mental clarity.
Trusting the Process
Once we align with something greater, manifestation becomes effortless. Dhyana (meditation) strengthens inner wisdom, while Sahasrara (Crown Chakra) represents trust and connection to the bigger picture.
Spring Reflection: Can you release the need to control every detail and trust in the unfolding?
Practice Tip: Spend five minutes each morning in silent stillness, allowing inspiration to arise naturally. (This one's my favourite practice!)
Embodied Practice: Stillness-focused postures such as Seated Meditation (Sukhasana) or Legs Up the Wall (Viparita Karani) cultivate clarity and spaciousness.
Living Your Intentions
Manifestation is not just about setting goals—it’s about becoming the person who naturally attracts them. Samadhi (oneness) isn’t about perfection or enlightenment; it’s about being fully present and aligned with what you want to create.
Spring Reflection: How can you bring more joy and presence to the journey, rather than waiting for a future outcome?
Practice Tip: Daily gratitude helps you align with abundance. Either journal 5 things you're grateful for each day or make a list of things you value about yourself and add to it every day. (This is a surprisingly powerful practice if you can be open to the subtle benefits it brings!)
Embodied Practice: Walking barefoot on the earth, breathing deeply, and simply enjoying this moment. Be open to inspiration and guidance from the universe in this space...
As nature rises, so do you. By aligning the Eight Limbs with the Chakras and the energy of renewal, you create not just a vision for manifestation—but a living, breathing expression of it.
This season, don’t just set intentions. Step forward. Expand. Become.
